I think we all know a Deviant like this. Photo way too dark, so-so composition, whole thing covered in watermarks, and the resolution is positively miniscule. And yet the person who point-and-clicked the shot still spends a paragraph and a half on a caps-locky rant bawling out their viewers as if every single one of them is just itching to steal the shitty photo and get famous off it.

Never mind that actual thieves could give two shits about your rules, however aggressively you word them. All your shrieking and hysteria can do in the long run is scare away honest fans who would never in a million years do you wrong.

And of course, never mind the fact that some of the rules are downright unenforceable (HURF DURF NO SAVING TO THE HARD DRIVE).

Still, if you point any of this out to the artist, no matter how politely, you had better be wearing a pair of asbestos underpants, because you're in for the flaming of a lifetime.

Especially if the artist posts a "call-out" in her journal linking to your page no fewer than three times and basically begging all of her friends and fans to nerd-rush your page and call you names for daring to challenge her right to protect her own intellectual property.
